Loomis Basin Community Day was a huge success. Among the classic vehicles in the parade were Nick Mangiaracini's 1929 Ford Model A pickup, Ken Lutz's '56 T-Bird, and John DuPriest's '67 Mustang. Mounted units included those ridden by Kelli Thorson, Carey Weeks, Daniela Johnson, Tiffany and Susan Diehl. Ryan Everhart of the Loomis Community Nursery School pulled his dinosaur with his tricycle. Loomis News publisher Carmela Martin was overwhelmed by the number and quality of the responses in a writing contest for Loomis School District students. First place winners were Mike Pendowski, Melinda Nelson, Erin Osella, Alicia Walters, Rachel Immekus, Affinity Konar, Kevin Wood, and Craig Brammel.
The Loomis Community Nursery School had an Open House for interested parents and children. LCNS was a parent participation preshool located at the Methodist Church of Loomis.

Rush Limbaugh, KFBK talk host, was the planned guest speaker for the South Placer Republican Women's luncheon.
Sarah Stafford and Donavan Gray were Del Oro Golden Eagles of the Week. Sarah's track coach, Chuck Gardner, said, "Sarah is a super athlete and a great person." Volleyball coach Jamie Mathias said of Donavan, "He is the type of player every coach wants and every team needs."
The Del Oro Dance Ensemble presented "Pieces of Us" under the direction of Kathy Martin. Among the choreographers were Carlee Mason, Mallory Naake, Sara Provenzano, Susan Pugh, Sophia Stirdivant, Lauren Souza, Tessa Norton, Tessa Elzea, Cassandra Holt and Tara Lawson.

Peter Ucovich was elected Vice President of Finance at CSU Sacramento. Part of his platform was the hiring of more full-time teachers rather than part-time positions. His father, Miguel Ucovich, of Loomis, said, "Peter is way ahead of me. It took me four elections before I was successful."
