Logansport school board members this week agreed to advertise for bids on projects estimated at nearly $1.5 million.

The projects included an estimated $900,000 in work to the boilers and to the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning system at Lincoln Middle School, a $275,000 project at the football stadium, a $250,000 project at McHale Performing Arts Center and a $60,000 project to replace a chiller unit at Columbia Elementary School.

Korreckt said in a memo to the school board that the bids would be collected and reviewed over the coming weeks. He said the purpose of the projects was simply to maintain the buildings.
“Most of this is original equipment, and it’s just worn out,” Korreckt told the school board. “At Lincoln Middle School, you’re looking at equipment that dates to 1964. Korreckt said the stadium project would focus on the replacement of lighting that has aged to the point of becoming unsafe.
“If we have money left over, we might do some work on the sound system and the press box, but our priority is the lights,” Korreckt said.
The work at Lincoln Middle School and the stadium will be funded through a $1.5 million bond issue the school board approved last year. Funding for the Columbia project will come out of funds remaining from an earlier bond issue.Find out the facts about coldsore,

The McHale project will be funded through a trust fund established to maintain the structure. Korrect said the balance in that fund now stood at more than $4 million.
