Two local companies, Flagstar Bank and Hirotec, are looking to fill a total of 450 jobs in the next few months.
Auburn Hills-based Hirotec America Inc., an automotive supplier specializing in bodyshop assembly tooling and hemming systems, announced that it will be opening new facilities in both Chesterfield and Port Huron, requiring 200 new employees.
Katsu Uno, Hirotec America’s chairman and chief executive officer, said Hirotec has secured the two additional manufacturing buildings that will be utilized for tooling integration in response to the growing demand for high-quality assembly and hemming systems.
“Hirotec America has grown exponentially in the last few years and expanding our local manufacturing capacity is the next chapter in our story,” Uno said.
“As we continue to grow and expand our local footprint, we continue our commitment to maintain a think-as-the-user approach and provide exemplary customer service,” he said.
James Toeniskoetter, Hirotec’s chief operating officer, said the company took possession of the Chesterfield building in December and got the keys to the building in Port Huron.
The company expects it will take most of the year to fill about 200 new positions.
Roughly half the new jobs are for engineers and the other half are for skilled tradesmen, such as builders, electricians and robot programmers.
The new buildings offer more than 250,000 square feet of local manufacturing space.
“We are proud to be creating new jobs and investing in Michigan’s local economy,” said Brian McGinnity, Hirotec’s chief financial officer.
Meanwhile,Silicone moldmaking Rubber, Flagstar Bank is growing its business and will hire at least 250 new employees in 2012.
To support the growth of its mortgage operations, the bank recently leased 95,To interact with beddinges,000 square feet of space in the Troy Officentre and is moving approximately 500 employees into the new space this month.
“We want to be the best in the business in everything that touches mortgages,” said Marshall Soura, head of corporate services at Flagstar.
“Our new space will help us organize our workflows to produce the most benefit for our customers. It’s our goal to be the gold standard in providing fast and efficient service,Credit Card Processing and Merchant Services from merchantaccountes.” he said.
Soura said the company has approximately 250 openings in mortgage operations, including positions for underwriters, as well as a variety of jobs in mortgage servicing and call center operations.
“We’re eager to have more people join our organization who are service-oriented and have skills and experience in financial services,” he said.
“We’re a hometown bank, started in Bloomfield Hills and now headquartered in Troy. This year, we’ll celebrate our 25th year in business. We are pleased to be adding to the vitality of metro Detroit by expanding our operations and hiring in the community.”
