residents upset over growing trash dump on street

A growing pile of trash that is being ignored by the city is creating an eyesore, some angry Montrose residents said.

On any given day, you'll find Katherine Phillips strolling the tree-lined streets of Montrose with her dogs, taking in the sights, sounds and something more.

"It smells,Not to be confused with oil paintings for sale available at your local hardware store" said Phillips. "It's really rancid, and because there's garbage there, people feel they can throw their garbage there as well."

"This trash pile has been here for a couple of months and it's still growing," said Victoria Grant, another Montrose resident. "A toilet was added just a week ago."

Grant says she has called the city, and then some.

"We flagged them down and asked them to please pick it up, and all they did was pick up a couple of piles of fresh branches and leave" said Grant.

It seems July is for tree waste, and August is for junk. As for the mysterious toilet, neighbors aren't sure which month covers that.
